POST OPERATIVE CARE

You will need to remain at the hospital for several hours before travelling home. Please note that you cannot drive after surgery. Driving should be avoided for four to five days. We recommend taking at least one week of work - more if your job is physically demanding.

It is important that you wear any support garment provided and do not engage in any strenuous activity for at least fourteen days. Failure to comply could result in serious complications.

Expect mild to moderate levels of pain and bruising, probably only slightly more than that experienced after your initial vasectomy operation. It is essential that you avoid alcohol, aspirin and drugs containing aspirin for approximately 5 days post-operatively.Please contact the hospital if you have any doubts.
